Soong returned to The Post in July 2022 after spending four years as the sports editor for Washington City Paper, where he covered major sporting events like the World Series and Stanley Cup Final. Before that, Soong worked in The Post's Sports department as a news aide and high school sports reporter. During that time, he also wrote for the Metro section, Book World, Arts & Entertainment, Local Living, Education, and the Inspired Life and Retropolis blogs.
