The death of a man found in a creek in Montgomery County will be investigated as a homicide, police said Wednesday.

Montgomery County Police said that the family of 43-year-old Jose Israel Centeno Velasquez, also known as Carlos, identified the body on Tuesday.

Police said the body was recovered from Seneca Creek on Sunday. Velasquez was last seen on Friday leaving his Gaithersburg home on Girard Street.
