Bailey Johnson joined The Washington Post in 2023 to cover the Washington Capitals. Previously, she spent two years at the Columbus Dispatch, where she started on the high school sports beat before becoming the Columbus Crew (MLS) beat writer and assisting with coverage of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. She began her journalism career at the Michigan Daily, the University of Michigan's student newspaper, with a stint as a general assignment reporter on the sports desk before covering the Michigan hockey team for two seasons.
